The motor is finally in!
I've been without a car for a month, but it was a month worth waiting for. To make a long story short, the car had a bad cylinder head which didn't allow me to change the #2 spark plug. I couldn't accelerate hard due to misfires from the plug failing. So I let the timing belt break when I realized that putting in an engine with half the miles would be the same price as changing the cylider head with labor and everything.
My car had 153k mi. on it and I got an engine with 55k mi. Pretty much everything was replaced on it except for the internals. Now it purrs like a kitten at idle and roars like a lion at wot. I'm so happy now, I can't believe it's finally done after months of planning.
Here's a list of everything that was put on the new engine. Most of it was included in the Blauparts complete timing belt kit. I had to find the other parts on my own.
Here's the list:
Timing Belt
Updated Timing Belt Tensioner / Idler
Updated Hydraulic Tensioner Damper
Heavy Duty Water Pump w/ Gasket (Metal Impeller)
Front Crank Seal
Camshaft Seal
Intermediate Shaft Seal
New Allen Bolts for Lower Crankshaft Pulley
Thermostat Housing
Radiator Hose Clamp
Intermediate Shaft Seal Oring
10 Bolts and 10 Washers for Thermostat Housing and Water Pump
3 Liters Pentosin G12 PINK Antifreeze (a.k.a. Pentofrost SF) (2 1.5L Bottles – Appropriate Amount for Complete Cooling System Flush)
Accessory Drive Belt
Serpentine Belt
Thermostat w/ O-Ring Seal
Meyle oil filter
Mobil 1 oil
NGK V Power spark plugs
Rear main seal
Cylinder head cooling flange
Clutch pilot bearing
New starter
New upper and lower timing belt cover
Re-sealed oil pan

Here's what I paid:
motor - $900
labor - $800
parts - around $450
The grand total ended up being about $2150
Thanks. Yeah, carpooling to work and asking for rides gets old pretty quick lol.
Thank you sir. I'm also happy that there's not even 1 drop of oil leaking anywhere. The mechanic said that the old engine had a bunch of little leaks everywhere. I think the previous owner wasn't very good at keeping up with maintenance.
