Mobil vs Castrol

Mobil vs Castrol
Saw this from another forum..the topic was about the V6 3.0 burning Oil..
"I say Castrol and Castrol and Castrol, but nobody believes me. This is the only oil that will keep your engine cool and clean. I do not know why, yet this is my experience gained over 25 years with VW and AUDI engines. Pennzoil and Mobil and Motul do the job at 80% of what Castrol does. Overtime this 20% accumulates to a problem that could have been avoided all together.
When you drove 2000km on your oil and you drain it out it has to be black, otherwise this "black" stays in your engine. On Pennzoil for example - I drained it after 5000 km and it came out clean as honey! This is not a good sign.
If you do not try it, you will not know it.
Also the notion of using 5W30 or 10W30 is absolutely ridiculous and costly. In the engine with compression of 10:1 and 5 Valves on top of it and Turbo in some cases there is just no way that 10W30 will protect the engine.
I recommend 15W40 or if somebody is allergic to it use 10W40 minimum. "
Can anyone else elaborate on this? I know a lot here use mobil 1, I as well. But this got me thinking...

interesting....
i mean castrol goes hand-n-hand with VW and Audi, so of course it is recominded, and suggest the most and very highly, but you cant convince everyone to use castrol.
but 1.8's are suppose to use- castrol syntec 5w-40
v6 uses 5w-30 UNLESS its a vr6 those use 5w-40
just curious what does everyone out there use???
i use castrol syntec 5w-40 on my 1.8 have done and oil change every 5,k and i have no sludge whats so ever which i know can be a big issue on those 1.8's

I've always used 0w40 Mobil 1 because it's often on sale. I do this because I've heard alot of people saying 0w40 is ideal for cars that see cold weather. But that first argument seems like complete BS, 15w when cold it just way too thick, especially if you live somewhere not on the equator. Thicker oil is generally only used for older engines that tend to leak/burn oil.
Also, the BMW M52 motors, which have a bit more compression and are very similar in power/displacement to the Audi's 2.8L, are recommended to run 5w30, in fact the BMW oil made for these cars is Castrol 5w30.

i have been pondering the idea of mobil one but it seems popular just cause NASCAR uses it, and in my opinion is so what they just drive in a ******* circle.
but i mean everyone hs their opinion and favorite.
and for the most part as long as you do an oil change every 3k to 5k you will be fine its the poeple that do them every 10k that have sludge issues.

0w 40 is perfect for the cold, sometimes I feel like my car is to warm in the summer but I'm pretty sure the stealership recommends Mobile 1, it's good oil but expensive. I used castrol on my old car I loved it but I'm hesitant with this car....

that weird so Iowa vw and audi dealerships recommends modil 1????
cause in texas ts all castrol and if you get an oil change somewhere else and its not castrol oil it voids your warrenty on your audi or vw!
