I have a 97 A4 1.8T. I dont have the armrest part of the center console and i dont see where one would have been. Did some a4's come without this piece?

 

take a pic, your car SHOULD have an armrest...

Thanks guys, I'll snap some pictures later and post them up. I have seen lots of pictures of b5 interiors that have the armrest so I was curious about mine. I just got the car and im trying to spruce it up.

No there was no armrest on yours, my 97 a4 1.8tqm is the same, I think its only like this on the 5 speed sport package a4s. is that what yours is? It had something to do with it being easier to shift or something, even if it is easier i wish they had put one in, there great to lean on while you drive and they just look better. - Nick

 

no i have an automatic 1.8t. maybe i have the baseline model, i dont know for sure. i have i can find a center console somewhere with a tan armrest. Its kind of uncomfortable not having one.

 

I got used to not having one, even after driving my bmw with the really nice one all the time, I'm sure you could find one at a junk yard by you, I actually know there is a tan one at a junkyard about an hour away from me.

 

Thats sucks, i have the the most equipped version of the b5 i got the setup for the oldschool car phone in mine, i dont use mine either though except to hold things in.

 

yeah i have the stupid phone in mine, you can see the cord in one photo. Theres a huge salvage yard 2 mins from my house. Ill go have some fun saturday and look around.
