Occasionally one of them knows what he's talking about. Usually the store manager does in my experience. But the young ones never do because they'd have a higher paying job if they were good. And you have to know something to be able to tell if the person you're talking to knows something.

I guess it was too good to be true. It must have been some freak coincedence that this problem stopped after resetting the ecu. I'm suspecting that the used DV that I put on is the reason for this. I had the windows down and floored it in second at 2k rpm and heard a faint pop sound when boost started. I was planning on getting a boost gauge next, but maybe I should just get a higher quality DV first?

I have had the same problem and changed my ICM before and it helped, but now I'm having the problem...Can the ICM be bad again?

How the hell did you reset the ECU?

Holy crap, I can confirm, resetting the ECM completely made it go away and the car feels and seems faster like it's boosting properly. Actually startled me today.

Maybe mine worked too, but then the DV couldn't handle the pressure. What I feel are random boost leaks it seems. Every time the car hesitates at wot, I hear that popping sound. I couldn't think of anything else it could be.

It's not easy to hear though. I really can't hear it unless the windows are down and I'm driving next to a wall or a curb. If this is what's happening with the DV, is this an example of what happens when the DV needs to be upgraded when you increase the boost level? I don't see how a stock K03 could be doing this though.

These dv will go out when you increase the boost levels...that being said, they will also wear out eventually on stock boost levels. It's just one of those parts that wear out over time. Luckily they aren't expensive to replace. There are plenty for sale in the classifieds either on AF, VW Vortex, and Audizine.it's a good idea to replace it with a forge or something like that for higher boost levels.

Is it worth getting an upgraded DV then if I'm stock? Or am I going to save money by getting an oem one? How much longer does a Forge DV last compared to an oem one anyway?
