misfire at cylinders 1,2,3. PLEASE HELP!!!
Hello guys,
this is my second post here and i really need help . recently i got my first audi that i am really excited about. its 1998 a4, 2.8Q, 30 valve. i bought the car with the timing chain tensioner bad. so i replaced the tensioner, the chain and the valve cover. after i put it back together the tensioner was all good, but the car was misfiring. so i did a cam on it and i showed that the cylinders 1,2,3 were misfiring. the car runs great when i drive it but when is in idle its misfiring and sometimes its dying. (i only drove the car for the tests, never actually drove it). first thing i did i replaced the spark plugs because they were really bad. still the same result(misfire). then i took it at a guy that fixes audis and vw and he told me that its not an electrical problem. he told me that i have a vacuum leak somewhere but he is not sure where. today i took the intake manifold out and replace the gasket, i replace all the vacuum hoses and i cleaned the throttle( which was realy dirty) the car is still misfiring when is in idle. it is not misfiring as bad as before but still.
