So finally got around to putting my springs on this weekend and being my first suspension job it was an experience. For anyone considering it and afraid of the spring compression it really isn't bad..just time consuming. My neighbor just got a sandblaster (one of my new favorite toys) so we sandblasted/resprayed the struts and even though that took an extra couple hours it was definitely worth it in the end.
Found out a couple things along the way too, this is what my drivers side cv joint boot looked like...Name: IMG_20101120_143449.jpg

And had a nice little crack which i hope is the cause of my stuttering

But anyways back to the springs, I LOVE them. Taking corners is almost too easy now and i know this is a joke to all of you with coilovers but I'm diggin the little drop it gave me.

And because everyone loves pics heres some before and afters of the struts/springs

Very nice. Of all the tools at my disposal, a sandblaster isn't one unfortunately. Utilize it while you can! I'm jealous.

Still in love with how it turned out.

So I finally found a used giac chip for a real nice price and snagged that up and cant wait for that to come! My only problem now is deciding which diverter valve to get... I was stuck on the forge 007 for so long but found a used baileys dv30 for $80 and now I have no idea which dv i want!

I've been very happy with my 007. Never used the Bailey one so I can't comment on that.

My forge 007 has worked fine for me. The eBay ones or the tt one might work just as well and are cheaper though

honestly as long as its not made out of plastic there all good i have seen many forge 007 fail but thats because everyone has one and this is on the gti forums i found this out for the apr only a few people have had them and none of them were said to fail i picked up the apr for super cheap so i couldnt care less if it fails but if i had to buy the best dv it would be the 007 but in all truthfullness it really doesnt matter its a springs wraped around in medal

You have a lot of good thoughts and ideas. However, using punctuation would make your posts clearer, be more easily understood, and be more persuasive/influential.

Just a friendly suggestion.

Inb4 this is the internet.

Ps, the "metal" you are referring to is spelled with a T, a medal is an award.
