I like the looks of this, what are the plans?

Did you modify that manifold yourself? Never seen one like that.

Thanks man. A guy on audizine welded in that strip for me (wish I knew how to weld) and I just smoothed it down and painted it.

The stock intake mani is tiny so we're hoping to see some cheap HP improvements, figured it definitely cant hurt.

I'm doing drop in rods, a little bit of a shave and tuck to my engine bay and getting ready for a holset hx35. I ordered the wrong headbolt tool by accident and then my new one got lost in the mail and I've been stuck for 3 days

Exactly, everyone gets so set on using a garrett/comp/precision cookie cutter setup. I got my turbo for $75, getting a bullseye .62 housing for ~$250 and probably gonna get it rebuilt for another $250.

Thats $575, half the price of a new garrett 28/30 series with wayyyyy more power

I wish I had a junkyard like that near me, had to wait a couple months before a cummins dodge came in

Its such a good option, im glad you stepped outside the box and didnt go the garret route the other millon 1.8t owners went. Holsets come on other thigns too I do believe, but i live in the country lol, theres trucks a plenty out here. Turbos for 50 bucks out of the yard is just an amzing deal.

Have you thought of doing the rebuild yourself? Its a pain in the dick but can be done, should save you even more money.

i did the same thing to an extra intake manifold i had sitting around. its small port so im not sure if ill ever use it since i have an aeb head. the build is looking good though. i was so gonna do a wh1c build (same thing as hx35). i bought a junk turbo and a rebuild kit and a new turbine shaft. dont think im going that route though to save money. think ill do a stroker build this spring along with some headwork and max out my 2871r. thinking i might get close to 400awhp with it. curious though. where did you find a .62 bep housing? i was only aware of the .55 and .70
