Default Major Squeaking coming from front suspension

The squeaking sound that is coming from my front suspension sound almost as if you had a metal bunk bed and the metal was rubbing together to get the sound. I found this article online that sounds exactly like my problem Chassis Lubrication - Car Squeaking - Popular Mechanics . I am just wondering if there are any places on my suspension where I can hook up a Zerk? Or if there are any other opinions out there of what I should do?

Squeaking from the front suspension is often the sound made when the control arm bushings need to be replaced - and replacing the control arms can be done for around $200-250 if you are willing to do the work yourself.

The front springs could be cracked or maybe the upper strut mount bushings are worn out.

How would I be able to determine which one of these it might be? Obviously for a cracked spring I would be able to see it but for the others should I notice a difference in the drive of the car or any other way to tell?

It could be hard to actually see what problem you have exactly until you start taking things apart. Hey, think of it as a learning experience

Haha thanks, I do think I have found the problem today though. While I was under there looking I noticed down the side of the strut rust has formed as if something was leaking from it. Also when the car is pushed down you can definitely tell the sound is coming from the strut, so I am pretty sure the strut is shot. My dad recommended I call Farm and Fleet (which you may not know of unless you are from the Midwest) to see what their price for a new one is. They told me I could buy a new one for about $100 and they would install it for $40. I think that is a pretty fair deal ~$160 or so after tax is all said and done, or do you think it would be easy for me to change it myself?

Hell, for that price, let them do it. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands and love doing your own work.

Make sure you get that $40 in writing because that mechanic has no idea what he's getting into.
