MAF replacement input/suggestions
Bought replacement MAF from O'Reillys for $300 (that's before the core credit) but am going to return since I see them cheaper everywhere else. Even the dealership was around $200.
I'm looking at ECS Tuning - http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_A4-...Engine/Intake/
I see three for my engine (1.8T AWM) from $109.95 - $184.70. Any reason I shouldn't go with the cheapest? I understand that typically you get what you pay for but am not finding any reason why not. Or are there any other sensors that are highly recommended? The car is stock with no plans for changing that anytime soon.
Brand New - $109.95

Absolutely. Any a4 with a MAP sensor will run mafless, because the ECU will fall back to using the map. I ran this all summer with a cone filter. Upside is you can vent the DV, and not have misfires (yeah it was ricey, but with an open downpipe, it was damn amusing, everyone thought I had the baddest sleeper)

To CCA4: No the ECU is constantly monitoring and changing the A/F ratios even at WOT, so it technically doesn't "need" the MAF
Really? I have never heard this. Or venting your DV ever for that matter.
