what part is damaged? if there is a broken wire, you just fix the break. however you fix it is determined by what needs to be fixed exactly.

and did you conclude on the internet that its your wiring or did you actually go look under the hood and determine its the wiring?

yikes. well you could try and go to a junk yard or call around places like 1800VWPARTS and see if you can snip or get someone to snip a connector off and just wire in the new one. it looks (at least from the picture) that there isnt enough wire on the connector end to just cut the damaged area away and rewire...

yea i definitely dont have enough wire. so i should just get a connector and solder new wire on to it? Are the wires any special?

looks like it. i dont think theyre anything crazy but your best bet would be to just get one with enough wire coming out of it that you could solder the new wires directly to the old ones on the harness.

no problem! just be sure to make nice solder joints when you do it (no cold joints), resistance increases in these wires can cause sensor problems as well. not sure what your experience with soldering is but just in case this might be of some help:

http://www.aaroncake.net/electronics/solder.htm

i googled that the other day to send to a friend doing some IC work but the tips on good joints are still good for any purpose.
