Default Lumbar support woes.

My car is finally where i want it to be, there are no cels, airbag light is off, car rides and drives as good as new. The only thing left that is still bugging me is my electric lumbar support. Since i bought it, i have always had the problem of it going up just fine, but will not retract down when you push the button, you have to wiggle and push the button like 20 times, and then maybe it will magically start to go down. does sound like It a motor issue or an electrical issue? i don't use it at all, but i often let family drive it, and of course they fool around with the buttons. Right now my lumbar is still stuck up from the last time it was used and it is driving me crazy, is there a way i can put the lumbar all the way back down manually without that button? thanks for any help that can be given.

Lol, I have the same problem! It sucks. Sorry, I don't have a solution, just wanted to sympathize with you.

Been a while, but I taced that out a few years ago. As I recall all of those motors only have two wires coming out of them. That, and the fact that they are DC motors, pretty much tells you they reverse them by changing the polarity. So if it goes one way, it should go the other when you swap the + & -. Unplug the motor and put 12 volts on it. Then change the + & -, I'll bet it reverses. That should tell you the problem is in the switch.

Somewhere out there is a DIY for taking that switch apart.

96 - 99.5 there is a wheel on the side of the seat that changes the support in the lumbar area of your back. After 99.5, there are two buttons that control a motor that does it for you.
