Default lowering the B5

ok so i have a B5 12v and im looking to dropping the car around 2 inches with out having to spend hundreds on coilovers.

is it possible to install 1.8t springs on my 12v to get that look?

pros and cons?

Springs on stock shocks are a bad idea, especially with old shocks.

The 2.8 is heavier than the 1.8T, the front end will sit lower than expected on 1.8T springs.

The suspension is different for the quattro and FWD, so keep an eye on that.

Spring and shock kits- about 800 bucks on ecstuning.com/ V-maxx coilovers, about 750.

I suppose, but if your 2 inch drop turns into a 2 and a half in drop because of the extra weight, you'll probably start rubbing pretty bad.

Whichever ones are least expensive, I guess, since you're going to have to replace the entire suspension shortly thereafter if you put the springs on the stock shocks. NeuSpeed makes a "race" set with about a 2 inch drop.

You would be better off waiting those two months and buying a complete kit then, cheaper in the long run. Are you quattro or FWD?
