Default Lost gears 1-4 on 2000 A4 V6Q (manual)

Here goes: Pulling away from a stop in 1st year, hear a clunk and now I have no gears 1-4. I can put the gearshift into each position as usual, but when I release the clutch, nothing happens. Reverse and 5th gear work fine. Any ideas?

how do you know 5th works? do you mean the car will kill when in fifth and none of the other gears?

Default 5th is OK

If I put the car in 5th, it will start to move if I ride the clutch. The other forward gears, there's nothing.
