Looking for some clarification
Sorry, I didn't know where exactly i should post this, so i figured i'd put it in here...So i've had my laser red b5 a4 1.8tqm for almost a year now, and i love the car to death. i've put 21k miles on it so far.
lately, i've been trying to decide on what i want to upgrade to. It will for sure be another audi, but I just have a few things that i can't quite figure out/decide on.
I found a 2003 a6 2.7t 6 speed and a 2001 s4 2.7t 6 speed that i like, and they're both within $300 of each other.
they have similar engines, with minor differences such as intake manifold (or so i read) and transmission, with suspension and brakes being different, too.
My questions are, is the a6's 2.7t more reliable than the s4's? with some suspension work and a chip can it really make the a6 run with s4's? I'm not looking for some track beast, i just want a nice car, that i can cruise back and forth to school but still have some fun when i'm home and on weekends. I've kept up to date with maintenance on my a4 and it's been very good to me, so yeah, can i get some opinions on this, and maybe some info if i'm missing something?

his really belongs in a different section, but i know of no differences between a6 and s4 engines. i can also tell you the brakes are the same.personally, id get the s4, unless you want sleeper status then the a6 is the way to go

Thanks guys! like i said, i wasn't sure where exactly to post this; i.e. a6, s4, b5, or where ever else.
the a6 has 68k and is a 2003 and the s4 is a 2001 with 78k so maybe i'll check in and see if they've both had the timing belt and water pump service done and see if that makes the decision easier...
it'd be cool to have a sleeper, but i love the feel of my a4 and the size of it (so an s4 would be very similar, just with more giddy-up) so i just don't know. haha.

haha i'm 19. i don't care much for the back end of the 03 a6, but i asked if the timing belt of the s4 was done and he quit texting me so i'm assuming it hasn't been...i have another week or two to decide so i'll have to see. i could happily live with either one i think.

Not if it's the Avant. Then it's a 3 girl deal for sure. (I wish)
