Most of the double-din DVD radios I've seen, there is a wire that they disconnect and just hook up to a constant ground so that your passengers can watch movies while driving. When I had my radio installed, they wouldn't disconnect it for me. But what he did do was say that if someone WAS going to do it, that there MIGHT be a wire that you MIGHT hook-up to a bolt to have a constant ground...

(joenelson7687)Most of the double-din DVD radios I've seen, there is a wire that they disconnect and just hook up to a constant ground
although there are some radios you can hook straight to ground, 90% of radios with built in video must have a switched ground.
all the switched ground does is mimic the movement of your e-brake.
for example: lifting your ebrake for 5 seconds...letting it off for 5 seconds...and back on for 5 seconds...and like magic the blue screen should be gone

I belive its as simple as a in dash dvd player in a car is permanantly stationed in the vehicle, where as a ipod is removable, hence why the dvd player has to be governed by state laws as not being able to be viewed, while the car is in motion, out of the box.

While I was digging through the vehicle code I happened to come across the section about televisions in cars. This is CA code btw. Looks like in CA watching video on your iPod is just as illegal as if it was a built in screen.

This is CA code, not federal, so I doubt it. Though you know how states tend to follow California after a period of time .
What state are you in?
