Locked out, dead battery
About a month ago my car had some engine trouble, I didn't have the time or money to fix it then, so I ended up parking it. Yesterday I went out to start working on it and the bettery is dead, doors locked, and my key just spins in the driver's door. The key works fine in the trunk, so I can get in there, but can't really get inside to unlock the doors. From what I've been reading I might just have to break out a window, but before I go to extremes, does anyone know a way I can get in through the trunk?

depends on what car you have. my back seats dont latch very securely and if you push hard enough on the back of them they will fold down, like if i have a large heavy box in the trunk and break hard.
if you have a cold weather package you can try and punch out the ski bag and reach up and undo the seat latch on the other side. if that doesnt work sit in the trunk and give the back of the seat a good hard kick near the latch, it should open up.
another trick if your feeling a little mcguyver, take out your tail lights or other 12v source available in the trunk and hook up a trickle charger to it, that should get you enough juice to power up the central door locks.
