RE: Is this legit?!?!
Its not the shop trying to rip you off. That is what Audi's recomended servicing is. Its of course a little much to be doing every time you need to change your oil. Welcome to owning a fine Automobile. Get used to being charged a lot of money for stuff

You will need basic hand tools
a socket wrench, extension and spark plug socket
the oil filter hand clamp
maybe a funnel for the oil
and a small socket to get to the cabin filter
the fuel filter is a lil bit more of a pain in the ***, just becaust the job is a bit time consuming
here's the instructions on how to replace the fuel filter ***CLICK HERE***
there are some good do it yourself write-ups at audidiy.com

bend over. if you go with it, you are basically getting raped by king kong. see if you can find ppl near you who are willing to help out. for changing the oil, removed the underbelly pan if you have one, you will see the huge filter right in the front of the car and remove that, the drain plug is like 6" behind the filter towards the rear of the car but the plug is facing the driver's side remove that also. make sure you have something under your car and something for you to lie on.
this is the diy for changing the air filter for the s4 but it's basically the same for the a4.

RE: Is this legit?!?!
^+1, yes it will!
should take you about 2.5 hours including fuel filter
just grab a friend and a couple beers, take your time and make an afternoon of it...
since labor is about 90$ an hour, a shop would charge you somewhere between 225 and 270$, not including parts, you are definately going to be saving yourself some serious cash, especially if you learn and continue maintaining your car yourself
