leaky transmission post clutch install
I just got finished installing my SBC stage 5 SS FE clutch today and when I retuned home after about a 50 mile drive I discovered that my transmission is leaking a good amount of oil. I replaced the inner throw-out bearing sleeve seal but not the o-ring that it had on it. Behind that seal was a metal washer that was a bit concave as well.. It was leaking before by a very small amount (enough to make my stock clutch burn up quicker than normal) so when I had the tranny level on the ground I thought to fill it back up the stupid way and filled it to the point where it started to drip out of the fill hole, I used an entire quart of mobile 1 75W90.
My question is; is it leaking because of a bad seal somewhere, or "hopefully" is it leaking because I accidently over-filled it? The oil color is not that burn't dirt black thankfully.. but it does look used, my last transmission flush was approx 5K ago.
I'm really looking for some straight answers please.. I really don't want to have to remove the entire transmission *again* for some $5 o-ring or gasket.
