Exclamation Key Fob Does Not Work

My Key Fob does not unlock/lock my doors. The batteries are new and i have programmed the key to the car ..and i know the Fob is programmed to the car because when in Vag Com i can see the values changing in the measuring blocks when i press unlock or lock. The Central Convenience module is not under the front driver carpet ive checked so the theory that is wet is not in the question. I did find the Locking pump in the trunk. Correct me if im wrong but ive read online that the 1998 Audi a4 2.8 B5 does not have a central convenience module at all. When im in Vag Com it times out when i try selecting central convenience so that also makes me think there is not one. The only fault code i found was

01365 - Lock/Unlock Switch: Interior 29-00 - Short to Ground

Can anyone help me with any leads?

Broken pump? Pretty common issue I take it. And if the electronics all work but the pump just isn't pumping air through the system to push the locks up or down...

I had to replace my CLS, but if I were you: I'd see if there's an external short before replacing it.

Use a DMM to use the CLS/CP ground to see if the ground works at the plugged in pump harness.

If the ground doesn't work there, then you have an actual grounding issue somewhere.

Otherwise, replace the CLP.

That sounds like a cheap part... Not!

You're looking at over $1000 to buy a CLP brand new from a dealer.

I sell them used for $75 if anyone needs one.

$75 is a good price.

Wen you change it out, you also have the chance to do all kinds of cool stuff with VAG COM (even the Lite ver.).

FWIW: If I were in your position and ruled out a short, I'd buy that pump from BaseDrifter.
