Question Key fob battery dying

So assuming that I can replace the battery in the fob, is it going to lose it's link to my car? I seem to recall having to have the dealer reprogram the fob to work with my car the last time the battery died.

Is there a way for me to do this on my own?

yea replace the battery before it dies, that normally keeps it from having to reprogram it... and if it doesnt you have to have 2 keys for your car to program it by yourself.

do you have 2 keys for your car??

You can change the batteries but you may need to just resync the key to the car. I did this just a while a go and I all I had to do was unlock the car with the key and start the car and then the remote functioned again.

that really work??

well i know if you have 2 keys put one in the ignition turn the key over but dont turn the car on then with the unprogrammed remote/key
put it in the driver door then lock it and lock it again then unlock it once
and then leaving the key in the door try locking it and unlocking it with the remote till it starts working.

UMMM I WANT TO SAY

CR2032
3V

best thing to do is jus go to a dealership they have the batteries and they
are the same price if you went to the store to get them but if you care they all use panasonic batteries from factory and dealer.

Thanks for this tip! This is what worked for me as well. When I replaced my batteries I lost the sync with my car. But simply locking and unlocking the door manually using the key did the trick.

I love $8 fixes.
