k04 intake

k04 intake
So is there a specific intake you need to buy when you go from a k03s to a k04 turbo? or is this just one of those "have to mod" things? can I just pull a stock intake from some other car?

No need for a new intake. The stock intake flows pretty sambhar good. So good that the only diff in aftermarket is sound and look. Look at the "airbox mod". It's free and makes the car sound just as good as most aftermarket stuff. I had the Evo cai, and I liked it, but not worth the money when you see what your actually getting. I could have made it myself for around 20 bucks. The carbonio looks very nice but has NO benefits above anything else. And cost an arm n a leg. Not to mention they aren't even full cf anymore, only the cover is.

Thank you guys. Ill post up pics of the new turbo when I'm done. Whats this I hear though about people mating a k03s to a k04? Reason i ask is because my k03s has an oil seal blown but I have a rebuild kit. Think it would be worth it to fix the k03s and bolt it up to the k04?

Bolt a k03s up to a k04? That seems impossible. Are you sure you didn't read about someone having their K03 machined to accept a k04 compressor wheel/internals?
You'd really have to send it to a shop that rebuilds turbos to make sure that everything is ballanced correctly. A turbo with unballanced internals is as good as a grenade.... Which might be fun, but probably not what you're looking for.
