so i am looking at dyno sheets (from chip companies) from pre 01 b5's and they post the same added gains as the 01 b5 with the k03s (both max out at approximately 205). what gives? if i am making 20 more horsepower from the factory, couldnt i get 20 more than pre 01's with a chip (meaning i would make 225)?
if this is true i understand more upgrades would be in order, like injectors, anything else?
for the record mine is a 01

 

the reason its about the same is because the tuning on the 01 is a little bit different which helps with the 20 hp. if you have exhaust you've pretty much maxed out what the turbo can do. you can get a fmic and a water/meth kit with proper tuning would add a few more hps but not a whole lot.

your next step after tuning is a bigger turbo if you continue to want more power.

 

What gives is the fact that the 2001+ made 20hp more because it ran 11-12psi boost while the 150hp pre-2001 ran 7-8 psi. Once you push the boost to the same level with a chip both will make the same power.

None at all unless your already maxing out the stock injectors. You aren't going to do that with a k03. Larger injectors on a K03 is a B6 thing because they have a returnless fuel system so they tend to need larger injectors then a B5 at the same power level.
