yes, when you put your ecu back in your car turn the ignition on without actually starting your car for like 10 mins. or so, give it time to scan the new software and kinda adapt to it...
i see your replacing your diverter valve, smart, and yea pretty much it kinda take it easy on the throttle fo like the first gas tank or so, and after that just let loose and have fun....

ohh nd your clutch might start slipping if you beat on it so keep that in mind...

you might have a case of bad boost from leaks for a while but once you find and replace the hoses you should be fine. also, check you plugs they need to be regapped and should be replaced if they're original

hiwords is correct. Gap your plugs to .028. Also, if you don't have a boost gauge yet, it would be a good idea to get one.
I remember when I first got my chip....it felt like a whole new car. Congrats man.

I'm jealous man! You've already sent yours off and I'm not sending mine until Tuesday! lol

I'm glad you started this thread. Now I know what to do when my ECU comes back.

And yes...what plugs do you guys recommend? Bosch? Bosch Platinum? NGK Iridium?

if you can get ngk i recommend them. i run bosch platinum on mine and they work great. might just be a 2.8 thing though. some 1.8ters run cheap copper plugs and change them out every oil change. i recommend getting a single node plug so that you can regap it

Autozone carries ngk but if you can't find them at a store near you, you can order them from a lot of different websites. The plugs you want are BKR7E. They are copper plugs and you can get all four for less than 8 dollars. I change mine every other oil change...

HiWords, i will be doing plugs soon. So Bosch Platinum is what you use? Is there a specific part number i need? Or can i just ask for 'Bosch Platiums'.

Fuel trims don't adapt until you drive the car for several cycles. You might experience fluttery idle, a couple hard starts, or inconsistant performance until then. Putting the key in the ignition for a few mins only adapts your throtle body. The ecu (fuel trims, bascialy) don't adapt until you drive the car. It's a good idea to make sure you don't have any existing faults stored in the ecu, just so you have a clean slate. Expect the car to drive like it should have in the first place.
