ive got a great idea
twin turbo the 1.8! ive been thinking lately how cool that would be. someone should definately do it but what would it entail? i was thinkin two k03's would provide pretty good power with a little lag but is there enough room? doin a bat nowadays is like beating a dead horse. so now lots of people are thinkin v6tt and v8 swaps. why not tt the 1.8? i dont think its ever been done but it sure would be neat. anyone wanna give it a try? a sequential setup would be absolutely bitchin too...

You would want compound turbo's if anything, regular twin turbo's would take a long time to spool because your dividing the exhaust flow in half which would take twice the rpm to spool, where a compound set up uses a small turbo (k03) to build boost untill the big second turbo spools (gt35). Here's a video of a 2jz with a similar set up.

I haven't come across much besides af.ca. I'm just wondering why everyone says they wanna do something different like v8 swaps but I've never heard of tting. Obviously I don't have the means but id still love to see it

that compound setup is pretty sick, i think with the OP's idea of TT is hardest for us(assuming u have all the custom part-building and fab-ing at your dispense) is the lack of engine bay space and if u could manage to "fit" it in there, the lack of room would be a HUGE temperature problem building lots of heat in a small space and lack of cooling even with a vented hood and huge intercooler.
i understand the b5 S4 uses the same space and overall body/engine bay shape, however that motor was made for the TT and with our engine's intake mani coming in the right side i would assume the second turbo(most likely mounted on the right side, while looking at the front of the car while standing in front of it) would take far more stress then the first turbo, being on the left side of the motor. whereas a true TT setup the turbos would be equal distances from the intake manifold.
now with my uneducated explanation, one would most likely say "well we would fab up a new mani that would come in from both sides, like a true TT setup" however that brings me back to my original point, not enough room.
now keep in mind im using general knowledge/common sense because i do not know the true ins and outs of turbo setups.
if im completely off base here, then disregard the above and sorry for wasting 2minutes of your time.lol

This is The Russian's V8
Pikes Peak A4 4.2L V8
This is getting off topic, but the paint job on his B5 is pretty sweet.
