I want your block, Ill come to vermont for it and pull it out myself.

But as far as fixing it, your mechanic should be able to tell you the deal. Id get a stethoscope on the block to really determine where its coming from (sounds can be tricky).
I had a rivet blow on a clutch load strap and it was contacting the bell housing as it spun, I could have sworn it was a cam chain tensioner failing...

Did you say you blew a spark plug up? Have your mechanic use a boroscope to make sure there isnt pieces of it bouncing around, although I imagine this would have caused valve failure by now.

Tough decision.. How long do you have access to that volvo? This could be a good time to turn the car into a project car and buy better aftermarket parts as you troubleshoot.

i know it guys... youre all so supportive and keeping me hopeful, im going to talk with my mechanic tomorrow to really get down to brass tacks in person and talk things out. the volvo is essentially mine. its paid for and my parents havnt driven it for 2 years... literally it has sat around their house in the back yard, cause they hadnt gotten it inspected and like... what a waste right? so i said fine let me take it ill fix it and just drive it... cause i cant be without a car. so they said absolutley. i just feel like i know this will turn into the audi sitting around here while i slowly tear it down, and figure out whats wrong with it.. not only that but it would be all out in the elements cause i dont have a place to store it. id honestly love it to become a project car, and not my DD anymore.... but i cant afford to maintain/fix/both of these cars at once.. the audi if i decide i want to keep it will be on the back burner... it sounds so easy to just say keep it tow it back home 30 miles and slowly tear into it, but i dont have time.. i mean i guess thats all i would have, but it would be over a long period... i wish i had the local support... i just dont here

1. Keep the car.
2. Don't give up.
3. Figure out the problem.
4. Fix it.
5. Profit???
6. Be happy.

It'll be hard to sell for profit as it has a salvage title.

Honestly, if you can't find anywhere to store it, just part it out. You heart is probably telling you to keep it, but I think the smarter thing to do is to part it out and I think you know that. Let us know if you decide to come back to the Audi family in the future! Good luck mate.

Krip is right, achTTung is in your area and he's a ******* mad scientist lol. He brought his TT to my house a few years ago - pretty sweet car. Shoot him a message. He knows his stuff and could be a real asset.
