Default Interior Moisture

Now that the rain has started coming down, i have come to realize there is moisture getting into my car some how. Its only rained 3 days here and there is already moist on the carpets (not bad but noticeable) and the only window that is fogging up is my windshield. Last winter i only had the car for the end of winter and never had this problem, the only difference is i changed my windshield over summer due to having a huge crack. There is no serious wetness on the carpets just moist, also there is moist on the stick shift and door handels. Its starting to smell a little moldy too. The only thing i can think is that the windshield wasent glued all the way around right. Im going to have the installer check it out but im worried that if thats not the problem then what is??? Any help would be appreciated.

Get under the dash with a flashlight while someone hoses down the windshield to be sure you don't have a leak.

Are both the carpets wet? Check the front cowl drains for blockage as well as the sunroof drains.

Last, it could be a leaking evap or heater core, but that is usually localized to the passenger side.

the front cowl drains are below the battery (in front of the windshield). The sunroof drains run from the sunroof tray, down the pillars, and out the front and back. To test them, open the sunroof and slowly pour a cup of water in the corner of the sunroof. Look for water easily pouring out the bottom of the A and C pillars where the drains end.

My sunroof drains were plugged over the summer, but it produced ALOT more water than you're talking about, mine was on the order of liters of water. Did you have a legit installer do your windshield? I would def. look into the windshield thing.

It seems like the water could be coming up from underneath my car cuz i took my mats out to dry today and there a little more wet underneath the mats then i thought. And im pretty sure its just the driver side thats causing the moist all around the carpet cuz thats where it was wet most.

Did you check the sunroof drains and front cowl for blockage?
