Intake Upgrades

Intake Upgrades
Hey everyone,
As I've seen noted by quite a large amount of people, intake upgrades really don't add a noticeable amount of hp or tq and they are mainly for the "cool sound" that they produce. What are the recommended brands for the "cool sounds" or hp/tq gains at all? I found a fairly pricey one made my Evo but didn't know what changes it would make as far as performance or sounds. http://speedagency.com/evolution_mot.../i-145600.aspx
Thanks in advanced.

Most people with 1.8t's just do the make-shift intake by connecting a cone filter to the maf sensor tube since it's pretty much a waste of money to spend that much on sound alone. You're better off using that money towards chipping the ecu. That's just my opinion though.

The one on your link will not work on our cars. That is actually for a transverse 1.8t, it is long and would be coming from the back of the motor where the turbo is located and goes over to the driver side head light.
Just shows you not all web sites know what they are selling.
This is what a Evo Motorsports CIA looks like for a A4 1.8t.
Price on that is $289.
