Illegal to run with no cats?
#11
I know its difficult for many car enthusiasts to think beyond me, my car, and the next paycheck-that-I-can't-afford-to-blow-on-car-parts-because-my-rent-is-due-but-I-will-anyways.
But the cats are there to decrease your emissions and subsequent pollution of the atmosphere.

i am in the drivers seat. but i worked on those 'half cars' with no cat no exhaust and i can say it wasnt bad. (maybe it was just me gettin loaded of emissions huh) and really, if the car was smelling that bad. im sure someting else is wrong..

Going catless is ghey on 99% of the cars on this site. There is very very little gain, if any, when comparing a Test Pipe to a High Flow Cat. Really the only reason anyone would need to drop the cat is if they are planning on getting tuned for race gas. And most of you are nowhere near that point. Having an APR chip, a magnaflow muffler, and a boost gauge isnt reason to need a TP, sorry lol. Oh and all those testpipes are flanged for a k03/k04, so they will be useless if you go BT, minus the elims.
My downpipe has a racecat in it. Granted, its like 100 cell or 150 cell. But I had it made when I was planning on being mostly a street car and not running race gas. I will need to get a new catless dp in the near future to accomadate the lead.

Not offended, I meant it more as for people considering one. Im not trying to knock people who have them, but if I was at that point, I'd choose the HFC. Personally, I wish I did not have a cat in my setup right now lol.

You can get your stock cat replaced with a HFC for that much, if not less.
