Ideas to fix notorious Driver's seat tear?
#12
Went ahead with the vinyl repair today using the $10 kit from Walmart. I was only able to glue in the vinyl tears since the directions said that it needed 4 hours to dry. Will try to finish up the rest of the repair tomorrow. I should have taken pics of it before so I can post up pics after the repair is done.

i just bought 2 tan leather front seats from a euro junkyard that are in awesome condition. my passenger seat heater stopped working and my drivers side has a couple bad rips.
$300 for the pair, now my drivers side will look new and any passengers will be able to heat their bum now

does anyone who why this happens so frequently to our cars? and does it happen more often on the 1.8t's becuase they aren't real leather? This rip is driving me insane, it is the one thing preventing my interior from being flawless. has anyone had any luck with those auto zone kits?

Sometimes guys, its just the way that you get out of your car. You know what i meen? Besides the fact that some of us are the second or even third owners of these cars...hell there could have been a 350pound man using my car before me, i wouldent know. If you 'wiggle' yourself around in the seat when you get out, its putting more stress on the stiches and material. If you get out of your seat in a more...how do i put this...'gentle' fasion there should be less wear and tear.
Im gettin a small 1 inch tear on my driver side left leg support. The winter cold finally did it in.
These kits that you guys talk about...are they like the one Billy Mays sells on TV for all kinds of fabric repairs? Cause that stuff actually looks like it works. lol.
AND ALSO THINK OF THIS LOL >> These cars were not designed for the largley morbidly obese american population. its a sad thing to say, but hey. Oh, and not that im callin any of you guys fat but, maby the 215 pound soccer mom that had your car before you was. haha.

i just got a hole in mine recently, on the left *** cheek bolster in the leatherette.. its gotten bigger too.. and i think its mostly from how i get into my car.. i sit on the seat and usually knock off the snow and **** off my shoes and then swivel inside.. the pivot point must be right on that spot so i need a new technique and a vinyl repair kit too.. and need floor mats haha.. btw, anyone got some nice preferably A4 embroidered carpeted floor mats? so when spring/summer comes along i wont have salt stains and rips in the floor... hahaha TIA
