I think my ECU is messed up, opinions?
Like my sig says, 98 1.8t manual fwd.
There is an aftermarket chip in the ecu, but I'm only getting 4 or 5 psi of boost (I've replaced DV, doing leak test soon). But the problem now is that I cant get the ross-tech vag-com software to work with my car. It connects, the port test says "Port ok, interface found" but I cant connect to any of the modules on the car. I ran the OBD II compliance test and it says the car is not OBD II compatible!
I've identified that the cable/computer is not the issue as I have tried two different ones on my car, and both of them work on my friends A6. I went through the procedures correctly, followed the writeup on Audizine to the T.
I also believe the port in the car itself to be ok because when I had the stock radio in there my friend and I could use the ross-tech software to run diagnostics on the radio, but nothing else.
Ideas? Thoughts?

the 5psi of boost means your in limp mode. is your CEL on or flashing?

Yeah, I have an aftermarket radio in there, and before I installed it I did a little research and found out about aftermarket harnesses creating a loop (aka short circuit) for the OBD port. I made sure it was disconnected when I installed it so it wouldnt blow scan tools. Nevertheless, I tried it before I took the stock radio out, and back then it still said "Not OBD II Compatible".
As for limp mode, that's why I'm trying to get into the computer. Though, I have doubts about whether or not the problem is actually limp mode, I have no CEL, and I've unplugged the battery (resetting the ECU) multiple times and it has made no difference. I think it might be a bad leak.

Yeah, sounds like it. Coasting while in gear it shows right around 20 in. HG. But the calibration's off because with the car off the gauge shows 4 in. HG. So the actual reading is probably in the neighborhood of 16-18 in. HG. I'll try to do a leak test later today.
I still cant figure out why the ecu wont communicate withe vagcom.
