side note: If you do rent spring compressors, rent some QUALITY ones. i borrowed some gangster ones from a friend and the back springs went fine. not too much pressure there, but the fronts are a different story. my spring compressors were bent farther than Elton Johns sexuality, and i actually noticed a small hairline crack start to form on one of the spring hooks. **** that noise. I've taken a spring hat to the chin and it doesnt feel very good... Unless you plan on painting the garage floor red in the near future, get some good compressors. or dont be a dumbass such as myself and position the strut in a way that things can fly off into your money-maker.

But in all seriousness, It took me about 6 hours to put my H&R's in and thats including a lot of beer and bullshitting. I didnt even have to take the sway bar links off. man-handled the strut over the LCA.

BEWARE: if you go the route of removing the two top nuts and the lower shock bolt, make sure you look to see which direction the shock bolt is inserted. one direction, it will come right out the front of the hole. the other direction, it will come ~3/4 out the back and hit the control arm and wont come out. mine were like that. so if yours are, be prepared to either remove the LCA or do like me and cut the heads off the bolt and replace with new bolts.

I did mine by myself in about 5 hours, including several breaks for beer, food, and parts store runs. It's certainly not an all-day job, especially if you have a set of reasonably competent hands to help you. You shouldn't be "afraid" of the springs, but there's definitely a lot of energy stored there that you should respect. Just like like a firearm, don't point it at your face and you'll be fine
