If the car doesn't crank over then it's more a starter or ignition switch issue. If there is a fuel pump problem it doesn't come into play since you can't even crank the engine over. But, if the engine cranks and cranks (turns over as long as you hold the key in the start position) than yes, you could have a fuel pump or relay that is bad.

I was trying to ask you to describe in detail just what happens when you hold the key in the start position.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that these starters were some kind of magnetically witch-craft based design that could lose it's polarity if you beat on them, rendering the starter useless. Not to change the subject or anything but this is something I've heard a few times. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

find a delivery fuel line, theres one in the tunk but you can find on in the bonnet if you so please. disconnect it, get a friend, crank the car, if you see fuel you know your pump and relay are working, if not then u can go buy parts. Your diagnosis is running in circles.

Advance/Autozone will rent you a fuel pressure tester, See if you have fuel pressure, and see if it holds after you stop cranking. I just had a similar problem, and it turned out to be the ECU relay. It was only $19. I had replaced the cps, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, and spent alot of money, only to find out it was a $19 part. The best thing you can do is find somone to scan it, and save yourself guesswork and alot of money. Either that orstart with the cheap parts (ECU relay #30, and CPS) and go from there.
