i need a guide to removing lower trim pieces...or atleast a good idea
Soo i finally got all of my system in, it's going into my 2001 a4 1.8T...
Alpine iva-w505 7" tv/dvd/nav
Metra install kit and all connections
Alpine mrp-f300 Speaker amp
Alpine type r 6.5 components for the rear deck
Alpine type r 5.25 components for the rear doors
Alpine type x components for the front doors
Kicker 4gauge wiring kit
20" 9 wire
3 sets of rca's
250' stinger 16g speaker wire to completely rewire the whole car
60' kicker 16g speaker wire
Custom subwoofer box i'm currently building
I'm replacing my bose system b/c i hate it, it has a good sound but i'm a tad bit into car audio (lol) and it's just not enought for me.
Here is my question...Since i have to run a lot of wire and cables i need to remove my kick panels, door sills, b pillars, and rear sill covers, also pull the fornt a rear seats out.
What is the proper way to remove these panels without damaging the clips? The last thing i want to do right now is ruin some trim panels and have to buy new ones.
Thanks

You dont need to remove the panels, just shoeve the wire inbetween them and the carpet. It's flexible. You do have to remove the bottom of the back seat. It just pops out though when you pull up @ each corner. Thats all you should need to do for running wires to/from the amp/sub. Make sure you run the power and speaker wires down opposite sides of the car. Just use zip ties to secure any wiring under the dash/glove compt. As for replacing door speakers, etc. Sorry not a clue.
Actually thinking back, you might have to losen the drivers kick panel to get the wire behind it, but not completely remove it.

I am asking because i do not want to do it that way. For one reason the 4 gauge is thick and i know it will not easily be tucked up under the lower dash pieces. For a larger reason i am running more than (1) 4 gauge cable and a single set of rca's. I am running the 4 gauge kit, 3 sets of rca's, remote wire, a 20' strand of 9 wire for all my speaker wires to run them into the trunk directly from my deck, and speaker wire from my speaker amp to all the speakers in the car. It is unfortunatley much too bulky to be tucked up under. I know how to remove the doors, i am just wondering how to do the lower door sills and b pillars. i install a lot of car audio, door sills usually just pop up but i gave mine a little tug and it seemed a little persistant. i didn't want to break anything without asking first, and i could not find oem schematics
