I need a clutch... opinions???
I have a stage 3+ 2.7T and need a new clutch to handle the power. Any opinions??
I was thinking Spec stage 3+??
I ran a Spec stage 5 in another car for a couple years and liked it...
Thanks

first this is the a4 forum, but my bigger concern is that you have a stage 3 s4 or a6 and dont know what clutch to get? anyway, with that much power you should be looking at some 6 puck clutches if you want to use all that power. i wouldnt go spec unless you want to replace it again in a year

Have there been Spec clutches that go bad in these cars?
I have only dealt with SPEC in the LS1 world with big power, they are larger clutches... That is why I am asking what is recommended from experienced Audi people...

well i just had my clutch disc completely snap in two about 2 months ago. it was a stage 4 spec too. no be it, the idiot that put it in before me used a non sprung disc with a alum flywheel, but still. it was less than a year old. southbends are what you want. a good clutch by them will run you 1200 however

I am really looking to hear from people with 450+ AWHP. I want to make sure I dont have any clutch issues. I know a spec 3+ will hold it, but I am looking for opinions on other options... I need some longevity too, so who better to ask then you guys on the forums who may have been running setup like this for years.
FWIW, I have an A6, so its also a heavier car and harder on a clutch. I am posting in the 4 forums because not to many people build the A6 for some reason...
Thanks guys...
