Default I was looking through the service records on my a4 and.....

So i traded my integra a few weeks ago for a 97 1.8t. the car has 120,000 mi on it and recently had a new timing belt, new turbo, new clutch master cylinder, all the fluids flushed, pressure and leak tested the turbo, the coolant , everything!!! the car runs great!!! however ive been noticing every once in a while accelerating, usually right after shifting, in low boost, it feels like the turbo just dies down for fraction of a second. it feels like its missing a hearbeat or something lol. its really not very noticible, no one riding in the car notices it, just me driving. so i was just looking thorugh all the service recods again and i found that somewhere along the line (there was no date or mileage) but a BOV had been installed!!!!!!! could this be the reason this is happening now??? is this turbo lag? or am i just really picky and this is something normal?? i dunno haha someone help me out.

If it's the first time you've owned a turbo vehicle, I would say what you're feeling is the turbo lag. It is also possible that the BOV is throwing the ECU off a bit (since it's happening after shifting). Grab yourself a good DV and replace the BOV just to be safe. Do you know if you're chipped already? If so, you're going to need a better than stock DV. If you're not chipped, but plan to, you might as well get the good DV anyway.

Welcome to the forums. It sounds like you found yourself a good buy, and I'm sure you're going to enjoy your new ride!

As long as it remains closed at idle, a BOV is safe to run.

it doesnt currently have a BOV on it. i was looking though service records and found out then one was installed at some point. and i know theyre not the healthiest things to put on an audi. my car is chipped and im pretty sure its the stock DV so i will look into an upgraded DV and ill see what happens
