I dont know whats wrong now.....piston ring?
ok so my car has been running great the past couple of months and i just changed the oil 2 days ago...
its a 1997 audi a4 1.8t quattro with a stage 1 apr tune testpipe and exhaust
so i was driving last night pulled into my neighborhood and floored it... and it kind of gave out, once again im running 17 pounds of boost...so im thinking maybe a piston ring? does that sound right?
i havent driven it since but when this happened i put it in second and took it easy, no problems
also i want to add that sometimes on startup it blows some smoke and smells like its burning oil.
i neeeeeed the car for work tomorrow night so i would appreciate anyone that knows anything!!!!!
thanks

What color is the smoke? blue or white?
Grab a compression tester and run a compression test. How many miles are on the car? If a piston ring failed then there is no way you're going to have the car fixed by tomorrow night, but I REALLY doubt that's what happened.

What Lyman says makes sense and I'd buy that. Definitely worth doing a compression check and also an ECU scan too though (never know if something is in there that didn't trip a CEL). If you find a cylinder with low compression, add a teaspoon of oil to that cylinder and redo the compression test. If the number rises significantly it's a ring problem. As stated above though, that's probably not that likely.
