Default Hydraulic clutch fluid change?

I need to know where to drain clutch fluid if what i'm talking about isn't the clutch then please let me know...
Ok I was originally to believe the the clutch and brakes shared the same reservoir.

Wait let me back up, I've had this bad smell of burnt a-hole every once in awhile, my guess was the clutch since it has been slipping. So I open the hood and on the driver side next to the fender is the reservoir to what I believed to be the clutch fluid, but I always thought it shared with the brakes, which is up by the firewall next to the battery... Well when I opened it the fluid is black and matches the burnt a-hole smell. But when I check the brake reservoir is was fine. So I contacted the devil and checked his Haynes manual to see what it said about draining the clutch fluid and it literally just says "drain fluid" doesn't say where. So how do I drain that fluid and if its not the clutch WTF is it?

And while were on topic just throwing this out there. If I launch my car at 3.5 or 4 the clutch will slip I will shift into 2nd the clutch will still be slipping all the way thru 2nd until I shift till third...

Thats your power steering fluid reservoir in the pic with the green top. Based on the service manual i downloaded from the maintenance sticky, the clutch master cylinder shares a reservoir with the brake system. i even haz pic:

If your power steering fluid is black and smells like doodoo i think you've got somethin else goin on...does your power steering pump make a lot of racket?

The stock clutch does not hold well to launching anything more then stock power. If you like launching your car you need a much better clutch like the CM FX300, FX400, SB HD-TZ or SS-TZ. Do not go with the SB OFE or FE clutch kit since they are not good for launching.

CCA4 so I'm only half retarded! And nope the steering is fine no noise, nothing. So should I drain and replace?!

Mike, I don't normally! And what do you recommend for the price? I was just looking at doing an RS4 clutch which = stage 2 I believe...

I would not recommend the OEM RS4 clutch since it is a self adjusting clutch which many people have had problems with it failing.

If you want to stick with the OEM flywheel I would suggest the CM FX300 or SB TZ setup, those have a kevlar disk. If your looking to go lighter weight flywheel I would suggest going 228mm FX300 with the CM 15 lbs flywheel (does have some gear rattle) or the CM 240mm FX300 with 20 lbs steel flywheel (zero gear rattle). There are a bunch of B5/B6 owners that are running the 240mm FX300 setup even with a K03 and have been very happy with the setup. It will have pretty much a stock pedal feel with engagement point that is just slightly lower then stock.

The CM 228mm FX300 will have a stock to softer the stock pedal feel with stock engagement point. The SB kits will have a stiffer pedal feel and tend to engage much lower to the floor.

No, it was just like we have in the rest of the B5's. The transmission in the B5's was also used in the B3 and B4 cars.
