Default how long does it take for your car to warm up?

it takes me about 30 minutes of driving for my car to get to the middle of the temperature gage, and when i get on the freeway my temperature falls down from 4/8 to 3/8..is this normal for the car to run this cool? 01 1.8T

I recently got my a4 and thpught it took long to heat up but recently noticed the gauge is a slacker. Sometimes ill stop and and itll catch up to where the gauge should be or if i shut it off and start it again the gauge will go where it should be.

Audina doesn't take long to reach the middle temp gauge,I'd say about 10 minutes or less and she's in the middle.

With the tune and turbo I'm running, about 5 minutes of city driving less on the highway.

When i buy the new t-stat should i buy the 180 degree, 189, 190, or 197.6 degree t-stat? Does it matter what one i buy? Any difference in them? any benefits?
