im a new member.
I hqave a 1999 a4 1.8t. i want to install a short ram or a cold air intake on it but the inlet to the manifold is a weird shape. it is not the normal circle or oval. how will i be able to fit something on it. is there a way to retrofit it or maybe there is a adapter???

you do know the filter goes on the turbo since you have a turbo right?

on a car with a turbo, the air is sucked into the turbo first and then through the throttle body instead of a NA car that sucks the air straight through the throttle body. so like i said you have to attach the air filter on the turbo. the airbox is already there so you'll have no trouble finding where the filter goes. you know you sound like you really don't know what you're doing, i'd get somebody who does and have them do it.

 

IF you buy a short ram setup, thats usually how its gonna look. The metal pipe from the kit attaches onto the stock hose that connects the turbo with the air box.
Also, check this out. It shows you how to install a K&N intake kit. Its pretty similar for any kit and not that hard really.
