How much is a boost gauge gonna run me? Hard to install? I mean I am looking into the group buy for speed tuning and a new ecu to get the tune so Im a little short on cash now. However dont wanna spend +/- $200 ~ to get something I already have lol.
Thanks guy.

Ok finally took my ecu out (ive been working a lot of hours lately). For one now im sure its the 557 P. And I took pictures of the actual ECU after taking the casing off. It doesnt appear to be soldered or anything that doesnt look like it was there before. I can upload pictures if that would help. so Im assuming if it were chipped I'd know when i looked at the ECU and saw something soldered on there correct?
Thanks

You should have a boost gauge anyways. It is one of the most important tools to make sure you're running correctly and will vastly help when you run into a lower power or vacuum problem (you will.)

I recommend the AWE tuning center vent boost gauge. Its a bit pricey so try to find one used, I picked mine up for ~$100 and purchased a generic boost gauge installation kit for $10-15.

I have an APR pod with a VDO gauge that replaces one of the center vents. Matches the interior perfect. I'd let it go for $50 (it's ~about $150 new from ECS) all you'd need to install is the tubing and t fitting and some wire for power to the light (not more than $15 worth of stuff). I pulled it out real quick after my old A4 was totalled out so that's why I don't have the extra stuff.
