I am the proud new owner of a 2000 1.8Tqm. It sits on 18s and has aftermarket exhaust. Debadged except for APR tuned badge. How do I know how far the previous owner went?

Recent work includes timing belt, wp, other hoses and belts as needed, 4 coil packs (two misfiring cyls), spark plugs, and waiitng on tie rod end, CV boot kit, and fuel filter.

 

May seem obvious, but I'm guessing you weren't able to talk to the previous owner? Cause I've always been able to get a name and number from the previous owner when I bought a vehicle from a dealer...or I've bought them from the previous owner themselves.

 

When I got my car there were two ads for it on local websites. found out the hard way that one of them was from a couple years prior and from the second owner. Had the guys name, called, wife answered. "yeah is ??? there, I purchased your old audi and I'm wondering what chip is in it" "sorry don't know, my husband died last year" now that's how to kill a conversation.

It's got a chip, exhaust and some 18's. Once you go up from there your putting in a different turbo. APR doesn't make a k04 program so unless its a STG3 APR system you've seen everything already that the previous owner has done.

 

yea if there was anything major done to it i would assume he would have told you about it to make the car seem a more worth the money. no reason not to tell a buyer about extra work you put into the car.
