Default RE: How to align cams with crank.

To align the cams with the crank though, cyl 1 needs to be at tdc on the compression stroke. I don't think I'll have to worry about it, the cams didn't move much, the crank is already close to where it needs to be, and the cam flanges are almost in the correct position to mount the locking tool.

I was worried that I might get the crank 360* off from the cams, but I think its impossible. The valves will hit the pistons first. I'll be throwing the belt on tomorrow, and before I crank the motor, I'll turn it over by hand to check for any possible interference.

How tight should I have the belt adjusted?

The rule of thumb for the timing belt is you shouldn't be able totwist the belt a full 90* once its tensioned. If you can twist it past 90*, then tighten it up some more.

Thanks dude, I got it all back together and running. The only problem was that I noticed the timing belt was rubbing on the back of the fan bracket. Shimmed it out a little. I really appreciate it man, couldnt have fixed it without ya.
