hmmm I'm running in to a small issue with the S4. If I can't get it to pas the inspection from the DMV I'm FUUUUUU!!Then that means I would have to sell the car and my B5 sedan. Just so I could get a wagon for the fam.

So, I've been living under a rock from some time now (and a hotel), and this has been an interesting thread to catch up on. Raudi, FYI, I love that screen name. When it's time for a new registration in November, I may steal it for my new Texas plates... Hopefully, by then, I will have a nice S4 of my own.
As for the registration, Krip, you should know as well as anyone... you guys live in Cali, there is always a 90% chance your car (or any car) won't pass inspection. For real though, I hope you get it figured out. As for a family "wagon," I was looking at an A3 this morning, and they actually look spacious enough for a small family (1 or 2 youngins).

Well DMV inspection usually only applies to visual inspection, not the engine. From the pictures, the car only needs a new door and fender. I don't see why it wouldn't pass the inspection after all those things are replaced.

Brad, I actually have been considering selling both cars just to get an A3 from the dealer. If all fails I just might look in to getting a newer car.
Randy, In order for me to register the car it has to pass a chassis inspection with CHP/DMV & have to approve the certificate. Also it has to pass a visual and mechanical inspection.
I'm starting to feel as if I bit to much to chew. ::Sigh::
I just don't really want to give up that easy on the car.
So the curse of the Noggy continues

Ill take it if you can get it to MD,
and a few words on the A3, nice car but it seems to be the "light" version of an A4 (cant have two automatic seats, just one) cant have quattro and a manual, there was more but i cant remember them.

I just went to get a quote on paint/frame repair and damn I was in for a surprise..lol. I think I'm going to fix it and prime it just so I can get this **** on the road. I'll worry about paint later, either way I'm not sure if i want to keep the Noggy( I know it's a hard OEM color to come by) But I really want something a little more subtle and original.
