Cam tensioner. And don't put it off. I bought a Passat from a guy who did and here's what I found in the motor:

The result was valve pieces in the cylinders and one piston with a hole in the top.

i would do oil change and put lucas oil in with it..i had same problem and tick went away but i have high mileage and a 2.8 and ticks are common with the high mileage...with 1.8 you should check for sludge issues though depending on your mileage

So took it to vanderhaydens garage located oshawa ontario, ive become very friendly with the guys and they listened, test drove twice, once with me and again with second mechanic both assured me there was nit any abnormal sound, and its normal. They specialize in imports so think i should take there word with it or?

Just one man's opinion, if the sound on the video is accurate I'd say take get someone else's opinion. That video sure sounds "rattley".
