Default help please???

i have an audi a4 1997 1.8t it wont go on reverse it drives good it shifts gears good but it just wont go on reverse i kind of wants to when i put it no reverse there is no check engine light on or nothing i dont wanna change the transmission and then find out it wasnt that is it the computer a censor or what please help thank you

could be the magnetic slider under the shifter. do a search for it, i forgot how they fix that problem
