Default Help a noob

Which is me.

Ok I can't figure out how to get a pic up here from photobook so here's the link. Sorry for the trouble.

http://s349.photobucket.com/albums/q..._5629756_o.jpg

Obviously my engine is out of time, which means I need to pull the heads off again. When I do, how should my valves be positioned, particularly the passenger's side (I believe the driver's side is set right).

I really need to get this done but I'm effin lost. I haven't had my car running in almost a year, if you feel my pain.

Ok, this is the 3rd thread with this EXACT same picture, and the "uh idk fix it guys".

We wont tear you apart for bumping your own thread with a question. However we will if you post 90 threads about how your 2.8 isnt in time

For the record, when posting, theres that little yellow box with mountains and a sun above the text box. Click it and past the location of the picture, and it will look like this

If you're going to pull the head to do this, you're playing it safe, and that's good. Trying to rotate the cam sprocket with the head attached might cause the valves to hit the pistons. When you pull the head, all you need to do is get the oval bracket on the cam sprocket level, with the larger of the two holes in it toward the center of the engine, just like the driver side bracket is positioned. See how the oval bracket has the small hole and large hole and the larger one is toward the center of the engine? Just position your cams such that the bracket on the passenger cam sits the same way (in essence, a mirror image). Long as you have it close before you reinstall the head, you can make minor adjustments to it to level the bracket. This will time the cams properly. Then both heads will be set, and if I remember right, your crank is already positioned correctly (notch in the crank pulley aligns with the timing mark on the lower cover). If that's the case - crank is set to the mark, and cams are both set as described - you can put the belt on and tension it, and reassemble the car.

Thanks alot guys, mostly you Devil. Helpful as always

[ I understand how multiple threads could tend to get annoying, however: imagine looking at the same broken car every (deleted)ing day of your life and just wanting to put a (deleted)ing bullet in your head. ]

Oh yeah, Keegan. I'm pretty sure I get 87 more posts of that same picture before I start to **** people off, at least by your standards. Maybe I'll photoshop them and paint them pretty colors, I can even add faces... this sounds fun.
