Default Help - Hard(er) start

Good evening,

I've had my car for a while now and recently started having a hard(er) start. Before, I would crank the car for say two seconds and now I have to crank it for three to four seconds. It almost seems like the car is not going to start and then it lights up. In other words, I can hear/feel the car turning over (a lot) more to start than before.
This only happens when the car is cold. When the car is even a little warm, it starts the same as before.

It almost seems like the car is not getting enough fuel at start-up.

Recent work that can have led to this (?) -
- Boost leak test; forgot to open up the oil cap (5 psi max with the oil cap on); replaced one damaged check valve with a cheap one from eBay.
- Switched fuel pressure regulator with one from a 2001 to check a starting problem with the '01. Prior to changing the FPR, I cleaned the FPR with compressed air because I thought it could have been faulty. Never switched the FPR back.

Prior to this work, the car would start up fine.

I know this is not a major problem, but I would like to know what is causing this.

Thanks!

Coolant temp sensor. They cause starting problems and don't throw codes. I know it's not related to the work you did, but the problem might not be either.

That's what I'm being told. It's an easy to replace and cheap part so I will be changing it out.

Thanks!

Try priming the fuel pump before you start the car. Turn the key to "on" for a few seconds, then start it.

I've been doing that and have the same results.

Thanks meh. glad we can all have some fun around here. Imagine if Chris reported everyone who cracked at him for his trunk exhaust... there be no members left.

Now for the help. My car seems to start easier after I change the oil. I notice it takes a little longer to start as it nears the next change. If you haven't done the CTS it is a good idea to do being so cheap and easy to do. It will cause more problems down the road.

I didn't actually report him. I was just kind of annoyed that he did that for the first response. He actually went out of his way to make a meme (or whatever) instead of not replying or at least trying to reply.

Thanks for all the help guys!
