help! gt2871r elim problems
i just finished my elim install with UNI's 630 MAFless and am running into a few problems, they could all be related or separate problems any help is appreciated, thanks.
1) Misfires, alot specialy at WOT sounds like i have super aggresive cams (i dont) and it seems to be getting worse, i was thinking spark plugs? still stock ones.
2) Smoke is coming from the exhaust, not too sure what color it is since its dark outside but ill find out in the am.
3) vaccum at idle is around 12mmHg... not sure if this is normal, but on decelaration its around 20mmHg
I was thinking, spark plugs are bad causing the misfire, and also causing unburned fuel to leave the exhaust causing the smoke. Im planning on changing plugs tomorrow, will Bosch f6dtc work fine?

My first thought is that you are correct on suspecting a problem with your plugs. It is my understanding that gap becomes very critical when you upgrade your tune. Off the top of my head I don't recall if it should be .028" or .032". Both those numbers stick in my head.
Also, IIRC, on a stock tune vacuum at idle should be around 20 mmHg.
mike-2ptzero is probably the best guy to ask about this

Try gapping the plugs you have now, the F6DTC is a tri tip plug so you cant sent the gap on those.
How bad is the smoking? Could just be from everything being new or the new turbo has a leak.
Vacuum at idle very low, could be that car is running way too rich which would also be the cause of the misfire. Did you install a 3 bar fpr with the 630cc injectors?

i just pulled the spark plugs and the tips were black, the gap was also .30 so i replaced the plugs with some bk6re's that i had laying around and i gapped them at .28. its still misfiring...
the smoke is not as bad as a blown head gasket but its bad enough for people to notice at stop lights. it seems to only be prevalent when at a stop. so im not too sure if it smokes while im driving.
i did install the 3 bar fpr.
what should i try next?

hold old are you coils? The only other thing that could be causing a misfire is a poor A/F mixture. did you use fuel rail spacers for your bigger injectors? did you make sure each one had the 2 o-rings on it? ARE THEY ALL PLUGGED IN?!? haha also make sure you plugged you cam position sensor back in which is on the same set of wires as the injectors.

i do have a cel, code is p0300 multiple misfires.
i did put the fuel rail spacers, however they dont seem big enough, im gonna try adding some washers and reseat the injectors, hopefully that makes some kind of difference
