Help! Front ABS Sensor!
#11
Thanks!
$28?!?!?!?!?!?!??????
I found it elsewhere for $10, but I need it for tomorrow and overnight shipping from California is $36.
The local dealer has it for $42.
What a rip! Guess the dealer's getting my money today... bastards.
I really wish this stupid sleeve was mentioned somewhere in the service manual. Would've saved me days of aggravation and a bunch of money.

Ya know, now that I think of it, when I replaced mine, I drilled out the sleeve with the old sensor and used the plastic sleeve that the new sensor was shipped in to secure it in the spindle. I had to cut off the bottom of the plastic cover but it slid in perfectly.

With the sleeve and some brake pad lube, everything went together flawlessly. ABS light is off and no new fault codes are being generated. Life is good again, inspection should go flawlessly tomorrow.

The ABS light doesn't bother me at all, I'd leave it on forever for all I care. But I have an inspection appointment tomorrow and it has to be functional for that, so I had to bite the bullet and buy it from the stealership.
