Default Help, Found a disconnected Hose - PICs

It's a 1997 A4 Quattro 2.8l V6 (SOHC) 5 Spd Manual.

I had the front end apart and found a random hose disconnected. It is coming from the hydraulic container on the driver side of the vehicle.

Can anyone tell me where this line should connect? It's coming off of a 'T' connector.

Where do the other two ends of that T fitting go off to? That looks OEM, but I don't recall seeing that hose on my old 97.

I wasn't able to trace the lines all the way to where they connect at their other ends.

My car still doesn't start so I'll be working on that problem and then the mystery of where these hoses connect.

Thanks for checking this thread, much appreciated!

regarding the headlight washer lines, I think thats the wrong part of the engine bay for those to be part of the headlight washer plumbing. They're not high pressure or there'd be clamps on that T fitting. They look like silicone or rubber?

Correct. More of a rubber material.

Got the car to start and run. No fluid coming from that line. I'm not sure where it's supposed to go. Car runs fine for now. This is going to bother me until I know where it goes. I'll have to do another tear-down next weekend.

In the meantime, if anyone has an idea, I'm up for it. Thanks everyone for your responses so far!

I own a 1997 A4 2.8 Non-Quattro

Your finger is pointing at a T upside down... Is it the rubber hose coming out the left side of the T (left of your finger)? And was the hose hanging down. If so I think I may know what it is.

I think it connects to the cruise control actuator located at the top of the engine toward the back of the engine (closest to the firewall). There is a bracket holding it up and a female metal tube coming out about 1/2" + long to the right. If its that hose there wont be one attached. Attach it and if nothing else is wrong the cruise should work now.

Hope it works, curious to know the outcome.
Regards,
Marc
